NEWS and FEATURES
BCIT 2003 Graduate, Jamal Rhett, Killed in Iraq
Dear Members of the BCIT School Community:
It is with sadness and regret that I share the news that on August 15, Spc. Jamal M. Rhett, 24, died in Ba Qubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle with grenades. Jamal was a 2003 graduate of BCIT Westampton Campus (Computer Science career major) and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
The entire BCIT family is saddened by this tragic loss of a young life. We are proud of Jamal's service to our nation and our entire school community will mourn this loss.
Flags at both campuses will be flown at half mast to honor Jamal.
Further information will be forwarded when details regarding services becomes available.
